Pool Safety

by Greg Sands posted Aug 10 2013 11:56 AM

This week a national recording artist's son nearly drowned in a residential pool.  The four year old son of Usher dove after a toy that had fallen in to the pool's drain.  His arm became stuck in the uncovered pool drain.  Unfortunately, this incident serves as a reminder about entrapment avoidance in pools and spas.  The following are some very important safety tips for pool owners or anyone that might be visiting a residential or commercial pool.

  • Never enter a pool or spa that has a loose, broken, or missing suction fittings or drain covers.
  • Immediately notify the pool or spa owner if you find a loose, broken, or missing drain cover.
  • Never allow children to play or swim near drains or suction fittings
  • Contact #0000ff;">Backyard Dreams at #ff0000;">618-467-6447 to have your pool or spa inspected and/or repaired
